Abstract
Controlled hydrolysis of (mesityl)2GaOH leads to the first structurally characterized galloxane hydroxide 1, which crystallizes as [l(thf)4]-6THF. The framework of 1 consists of a distorted Ga6 octahedron whose faces are capped alternately by 3-O or 3-OH ligands. Only the ipso-C and O atoms of the mesityl and four THF substituents, respectively, are shown in the picture on the right.
